Fat Burning Foods

Let’s get one thing straight. First of all, there’s no such thing as fat burning foods. Every food we eat contains calories, but no food turns on fat burning in our bodies. There are a few more weight loss myths I’ll expose, and then I’ll show you the truth about a fat burning diet.

There’s also no such thing as “negative calorie foods”. Nothing we eat causes our bodies to burn more calories than the food contains. Some “whacko” trainers have written articles about negative calorie fat burning foods, but they are so wrong it’s funny.

For example, these crazy people think that if you eat celery, bananas, or even apples that your body burns more calories digesting the foods than you can eat. That’s ridiculous.

And you certainly don’t want to tell that to monkeys or gorillas. After all, if the negative calorie theory was true, those animals would be nothing but skin and bones!

Fat burning supplements are also a scam. While research shows that Green Tea and caffeine can slightly – and I mean very slightly – increase your metabolism, neither of these supplements will have a long term effect on your fat loss.

You simply won’t lose weight taking diet pills. Almost every research study shows diet pills fail. Fat burning supplements are as mythical as fat burning foods.

The best way to burn fat is to simply eat less food than normal. Some diet experts even recommend intermittent fasting for fat loss, and that makes much more sense than expecting to eat your way out of a fat body. Intermittent fasting requires a full article itself, but I won’t cover that now.

Instead, I’ll cover the best fat burning diet, which is what most people mean when they talk about fat burning foods. The best fat burning diet is simple, and focuses on whole, natural foods such as fruits and vegetables, raw nuts, slightly more protein than usual, and sources of healthy fats.

You don’t have to eat meat to burn fat, but you do need to get at least 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of bodyweight each day to help boost your fat burning, but that’s only 112 grams of protein for a 154 pound person.

If you are significantly overweight, I don’t think men need more than 200 grams of protein and women don’t need more than 150 grams of protein as their maximum intake. Unlike what bodybuilders have preached, you don’t need to get 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, especially if you are over 20% body fat.

But back to the best fat burning foods, or really, the best fat burning diet to use the correct phrase. One of the most important things you need to do is simply eat fewer calories than you need.

I simply recommend that folks create a diet journal for 7 days to keep track of how much food they eat, how they feel after they eat it, and to estimate how many calories you each day and for the week. Combine that approach with using the Turbulence Training for Fat Loss workouts, and you’ll lose at least 1 pound of fat per week.

If you are gaining weight on the current plan, you need to cut back quite a bit, probably 30%. But if you are staying at the same weight, you might need to only cut back 10% to start burning fat. Plus, you should always focus on improving the quality of your diet, so eat more fruits and vegetables and raw nuts. If anything could ever be called fat burning foods, those three categories would qualify.
